Work Regulations for Teachers in UAE- 

The maximum work hours for teachers in the UAE can be considered from two perspectives: the general labor law and the specific regulations for teachers set by the Ministry of Education (MoE).



General Labor Law:

Standard working hours: According to the UAE Labor Law (Federal Law No. 8 of 1981, as amended), the maximum working hours for private sector employees are 8 hours per day and 48 hours per week.

Ministry of Education Regulations:



Teaching hours: The MoE sets specific teaching hours for teachers in public and private schools. These typically range from 18 to 24 periods per week, depending on the school level and the duration of each period (usually 40 or 45 minutes).



Additional work: Besides teaching hours, teachers may also have additional responsibilities like lesson planning, marking assignments, attending meetings, and participating in extracurricular activities. However, the MoE guidelines emphasize that these tasks should not exceed reasonable limits and should not significantly impact the teacher's overall workload.
